With not alot know about the new iridium 9575 it is assumed that the Isatphone pro has become a real threat to the Iridum empire.

Here are the leaked facts so far - we will update you as to the exact differences when we get our hands on the phone and official specs.

The rumour mill is a humming that Iridium will be releasing a new handset to compliment its satellite network in the near future. The Iridium 9575 satellite phone will be 10% thinner and 7% lighter than the current long term model the Iridium 9555.

So bookmark this page and watch out for the latest news and updates. this will be the first new phone Iridiu, have launched in over 4 years. We expect it to be compete against the all new Isatphone Pro.

The Iridium 9575 will also be more rugged with both an IP65 and US MIL 810F rating and a rubber grip.

The 9575 antenna will have a more rugged design and the unit will come with a tracking function complete with a panic button for emergency situations.

Iridium have currently released no information about the handset which is strange if it is due to be released in July, which normally means that we see it here inaustralia around 30 days later.

However if the rumors do become true I look forward to receiving my new Iridium 9575 handset and providing a thorough review and comparison of the phone in the very near future.

As soon as I have an Iridium 9575 Manual for you to download you will find it first on this site.
Please check back for the Iridium 9575 Owners Manual around July.

It will be ready for download here as soon as it is available.

Use your Iridium 9575 satellite phone for data transfer and connectivity.
Please check back for Iridium 9575 data speed and implementation instructions.

We will have comparrisons against the current 9555 and the all new isatphone Pro Satellite Phones as soon as they are available.

The Most Common question we get from our clients is “can I buy an isatphone pro satellite phone outright in Australia’?.

The answer is yes you can. Most dealers wont to sell you an isatphone pro satellite phone standalone and this is because they make vast amounts of their income from their airtime contracts. So often the handset is being subsidised by an airtime contract over 12 or 24 months.

But they are available. At isatphonedirect.com.au our philosophy is if we aren’t good enough to get your airtime because we have the best packages well then we never deserved it in the first place, so you are able to buy a new isatphone pro outright online from us.

With or without a contract, but only of Australia’s leading satellite phone specialists.

You see at Isatphonedirect.com.au , Australia’s leading satellite phone online store, we’ve dedicate ourselves to giving you the best prices and more importantly service guaranteed.
You see talk to the experts, let us help you make the right informed choice about your satellite phone needs. With over a decade of experience at the end of the phone it’s nice to be able to talk to people who understand what your requirements are and can fulfill them competently and cost effectively for you.

However buying the handset is only part of the deal when buying a satellite phone. You can often find them on eBay or online cheaply from places that you don’t know where they’ve come from. They could be stolen or it could be broken. What a lot of people don’t know is that if the phone has been stolen we are able to blacklist it. The Isatphone pro have an IMEI number and an IMEI number allows us as a dealer to blacklist that phone from ever being used if someone put in another SIM card in it. This is a security measure against the handsets being stolen and then used.

So don’t get caught short, buy from a reputable dealer and make sure that you can either get a prepaid contract with a SIM card or an airtime contract that is appropriate to your needs. At isatphonedirect.com.au talk to the experts on one 1300 155 803

Miners in Australia are working in dangerous situations. Due to them being in remote areas miners also need a means of communication from themselves to the outside world. Mobile phones hardly work as it is in the Outback and even. This is where an Inmarsat pre paid satellite phone would come into play. Because the satellite phones rely on satellites in the sky for reception, you don’t need to worry about being around any mobile phone towers.

Miners can rely on their satellite phones for reception no matter where they are around the mine site. This ensures the ability for constant communication at all times and also helps miners feel safer because they know that if there’s ever an emergency they have their satellite phone to call for help.

Choosing A Plan

One of the biggest troubles that people have when signing up for a Inmarsat pre paid sim card for their satellite phone is trying to decide which term will suit them best. There are the standard satellite service plans available but then there are also the pre paid satellite phone plans known as pre paid sim cards which are quite popular.

A lot of the fees are the same between both types of contracts but there are some major differences. For one thing with a pre paid satellite phone plan you’re able to decide how much time you want to have put on the phone and then once you run out that’s it. As a result you’re not running the risk of being surprised with a huge phone bill at the end of the month. It’s easy to get carried away and lose track of charges and fees with a mobile phone never mind a satellite phone. Even with a pre paid satellite phone there are charges every time you make a phone call or send an SMS message.

With a pre paid plan you have the chance to decide upfront how much money you want to spend on the phone for the month and then you just have to expend that time wisely. This is a much more convenient option for many people. A lot of mining businesses stick to the pre paid plans because then the workers have a load off with not having to worry about whether they’ve gone over their limit for the month or not.

Inmarsat offers some fantastic pre paid satellite phone options. They are quite competitive and for a satellite call to somewhere in Australia you will only be charged around $2.00 minute. Whether local or International. The pre paid plans charge .50 cents for national SMS, 50 cents for international SMS,.

Compared to other satellite providers out there, the Inmarsat pre paid satellite phone plans definitely have their advantages.

The Inmarsat Isatphone Pro combines everything you would want in a satellite mobile phone, and more. Through the Isatphonepro, Inmarsat has broken a lot of firsts. It is the first handset produced by the company. It is also the Inmarsat’s first global handheld satellite mobile phone. With the device, you can communicate without hassle, no matter the distance or location. It offers genuine global communication you can use from all over the world. With the sleek yet robust design, you will have everything you need professionally. From basic features such as satellite telephony, text messaging and email, to more unique features such as Bluetooth and GPS positioning, the Inmarsat Isatphonepro really delivers.

The Isatphone pro’s suggested retail price is $699 (US dollars). This makes it one of the cheapest satellite mobile phones on the market. When it is released in June of 2010, it will give users the ultimate satellite phone experience. It makes use of several Inmarsat 4 satellites for full global coverage. It will be a wise investment as the operational life will last until about year 2020.

Inmarsat’s Isatphone pro was designed for government, aid, mining, construction and media use. However, the company aims to expand the usage to more commercial users. You can purchase a lot of accessories to go with your Isatphone pro. Docking stations for indoor use are available through Inmarsat’s partner companies. Bluetooth headsets are a main accessory, as the Inmarsat Isatphone Pro is the only satellite phone to have Bluetooth technology. This enables wireless, hands free calls anytime, anywhere. In addition, a solar charger is also available for the handheld device. This is great for emergencies where no power outlet is available. It can also save you a lot of money. The battery for the handset can last for up to eight hours (talk time) and a total of a hundred hours on stand by. It comes with flexible phone book features and smart dialling. The menu is also easier to use, as it is icon-driven.

A robust exterior comes along with the newest technology for the Isatphone. It is small enough to fit in your pocket without being bulky or too heavy. It weighs only 279 grams or 9.84 ounces. The dimensions of the global satellite phone are as follows: 170 millimetres in length, 54 millimetres in width, and 39 millimetres in depth (6.7 inches in length, 2.2 inches in width, 1.54 inches in depth). The keypad is also specially designed for use with gloves. It can stand extreme temperatures and humidity. Dust proof water proof, and shock proof, the Inmarsat IsatPhone pro can really deliver.

Inmarsat’s SPS based services are not closed. The long-awaited Isatphone uses various SPS based services. However, the company only plans to extend this technology to only two other products: the Fleet Phone and the Land Phone, which are set to be released in 2011. Another variant of the IsatphonePro is also available. It is made especially for government use, because it is more secure. However, no details about this product have been confirmed by Inmarsat.

The Inmarsat Isatphone Pro is equipped with full global coverage. With easy to use functions and a rugged style is aimed at government, media and health care industries. It has a lot of features which are quite handy and useful at locations where there is no cellular phone reception.

It uses satellite telephony with a 2.4 kbps voice codec for easy calls with little to no call dropping. This ensures a steady call that is not choppy. Because of Inmarsat’s innovation, any user can make calls from all over the world with one handy cellular phone. It is the first global satellite mobile phone. No other company has managed to achieve the standards of Inmarsat’s IsatPhone Pro. Inmarsat has dedicated years of extensive research and development to provide users with features never before seen in a satellite phone.

Inmarsat has also been able to make use of their vast resources. Because they specialize in different satellites used by the government, they are able to add the global satellite calling feature on the IsatPhone Pro. It has a higher data transfer speed, which makes the handheld device more efficient. Other call features such as call history, caller ID, call waiting, call divert, call holding, conferencing, call barring, speed dialing, and fixed number dialing make global calls a breeze to make.

The Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro also makes it possible for users to sync their contacts via the MS Outlook 2007 Program. This is available in computer operating systems such as Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1. This makes it easier to import and export contacts. Transfer your important business contacts with ease. In addition, the global satellite mobile phone supports several languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Japanese, Spanish and Russian.

Sending texts and email messaging are also made possible on the device. You can easily download and send important emails and text in one handy device. Voice mail is also a breeze, as you can record voice mail with one button. Because of the per message charge on sms and email, you won’t think twice about sending messages again. Another feature users can make full use of is the GPS tracking device, which requires a GPS fix to operate. You can view your position anywhere on the globe, as the Isatphone Pro is a part of what is called the Broadband Global Area Network Family or BGAN Family developed by Inmarsat. In fact, you can even send the geographical data of your exact location through a simple text or email. Talk about convenient!

The Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro is set for release on June of 2010. It was made in partnership with the biggest names in satellite telecommunication technology. Through industry giants such as Sasken Communications Technology and Elcoteq, they have managed to produce the ultimate satellite phone, able to make calls from all over the world. According to the press release, they are going to charge $1 (US dollars) per minute for calls. This is a competitive price when compared to other satellite phones.

Thuraya and Inmarsat have long been the most well known names in the satellite phone industry. Through the years, the two companies have managed to set the standards in the field. Recently, Thuraya has released the Thuraya XT, a high-end satellite phone which was the first to have an IP54 durability rating. It is very durable. However, recently Inmarsat has announced that they will be releasing their latest development: a global satellite phone, just as durable as the Thuraya XT. The Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro is set for release in June of 2010. For those who are planning to buy a satellite phone, these two are definitely the best in the business.

Thuraya XT was the first to set the standard in satellite phone durability. This includes splash and water resistance, dust resistance and dust proofing. With the rubber plugs and polycarbonate external casing, it is one of the most durable satellite handsets available. The battery life is also pretty impressive. It can last for about six hours of talk time, and eighty hours on stand by. It is also equipped with a handy GPS Navigation system, which can help you set points. You can use this to mark data on your satellite phone, or to make your way through terrains. With the glare-resistant screen, this mobile phone was really designed to be used outdoors. However, it also incorporates a more modern GSM menu set up, making it easier for the user to explore the satellite phone.

Meanwhile, the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro incorporates all of the Thuraya XT’s features, and raises the bar a little further. The handheld global satellite phone can make calls from all over the world with improved voice quality and significantly lower rates of call dropping. This is done through the Inmarsat satellites all over the globe. Also, the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro can send both text messages and emails. The handset is also equipped with a GPS locator so you can mark points, and send your exact location to another computer or phone via email or text. It can even receive web messages through the computer. The battery life is also more impressive, as it can stand up to eight hours of talk time and a hundred hours on stand by. It also has a lot more handy features such as a calendar, calculator, alarm, microphone muting and minute minder in call alert. The design of the handset is also much more user friendly. In fact, it was especially designed for use when in gloves, so the keypads are wide and flat. It can also stand extreme temperatures.

All in all, the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro seems to have it all. It is definitely a much needed upgrade from the Thuraya XT. With its global calling capabilities, it opens the doors to a wider audience and consumers. However, although the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro can stand extreme temperatures, Thuraya XT is made for a slightly tougher polycarbonate body, making it more suited to those who plan to use the phone in rough environments.

The Inmarsat Isatphone Pro is definitely the ultimate global satellite phone to date. Set for release on June of 2010, many people await the debut of this high class phone. It makes use of satellite telephony to give users up to 2.4 kpbs of voice codec. You can now make calls from all over the world using one handy device. It also has a lot of other useful capabilities. It has reached the highest standard of satellite phone durability. It is dust proof, shock proof, and splash proof. It can also stand extreme temperature, from negative twenty degrees Celsius up to fifty five degrees Celsius. It can also tolerate humidity from zero to ninety five per cent. This is combined with a 3.5 volt lithium ion battery which can take up to eight hours of talk time and a hundred hours on standby makes for the ultimate satellite phone. Other handy features include the ability to send and receive text and email. It has text to text, text to email, and web message to phone capabilities. The Inmarsat Isatphone Pro is also capable of viewing and sending the user’s exact location through GPS location. The phone is then able to send your GPS data as an email or text. It is equipped with a calendar, alam clock, calculator, minute minder (for in call alerts), as well as microphone muting which are all for everyday use. You can also synchronize your data with the MS Outlook 2007. The handheld device supports Spanish, Russian, Chinese, portugese, French, Japanese, and Arabic. The Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro’s suggested retail price is $699 (US Dollars).

The Isatphone Pro is best for travelers, as the phone is capable of making calls from anywhere around the world. That means even in places where there is no terrestrial cellular phone reception. This is because it makes use of a technology that is developed by Inmarsat, which is projected to be in use up until the 2020s. This significantly lowers call dropping and improves voice quality. With the call rate of a dollar per minute, this is definitely a good bargain. Because it also has texting and email capabilities, the function is not limited to emergency calls.

First aid workers can also greatly benefit from this device. From anywhere in the world, they can ask for back up help and rescue during emergencies. Those in the media can also use this device, when they are travelling to dangerous places, or places with extreme temperature.

For those who are always going on an adventure – skiing, mountain climbing, hiking, and others – the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro can be the best companion to bring. You never know when you will get an emergency. Just in case you get lost, the IsatPhone Pro can help you. With the handy GPS locator, rescue is a simple text or email away. You can send your exact location anytime, anywhere. You can also call for a rescue team easily. The Isatphone pro has a lot of uses. Inmarsat has worked through research and development to open the satellite phone industry to a larger audience.

Satellite phones are not new. They are used by professionals in the media, government, and even first aid. However, the Isatphone-Pro is a cut above the rest. The global satellite handset was developed by Inmarsat, in cooperation with Sasken Communications Technology as well as Elcoteq. These big names in the industry pave the way for excellence in telecommunications technology. Through years of research and development, these industry giants have come up with an easier, more convenient way to make calls even in places without cellular phone reception. Although Inmarsat has been in the business for over thirty years, this is an important milestone for them, as the Inmarsat Isatphone-Pro is the first ever handset built by the company.

The physical make up of the handset is very durable. It is ideal for locations with extreme temperatures or conditions. It can stand temperatures from minus 20 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius. It is shock proof, as well as waterproof. It can also hold up to places with 0 to 95 per cent humidity. This makes for a rugged, highly durable phone. Combined with the phone’s 3.5 volt lithium ion battery which can deliver up to eight hours of talk time and almost hundred hours on standby this makes for the ultimate satellite phone.

Inmarsat along with its other partners have also installed some upgrades the Isatphone-Pro. It is set apart from all other satellite phones. It makes use of satellite telephony which significantly reduces call dropping, which is a common problem for most satellite phones. Furthermore, the Inmarsat Isatphone-Pro is the first global satellite mobile phone. Aside from high quality calling, the phone makes use of global satellites especially designed by Inmarsat. This means that you can make a call from all over the world without any problems. It is also the first satellite phone that is Bluetooth enabled. This was designed as such by Inmarsat to enable hands free use. This makes for an efficient, functional phone.

The Inmarsat Isatphone-Pro also has a lot of other handy features any user would want. It is able to send and receive text messages. Also, the user is able to send and receive email messages on the phone. This makes connecting to friends, family, or business partners easier. Also, it is equipped with a fully functional GPS Locator which allows the user to send his/her exact location via text or email. This can be extremely useful for those who often go to remote places. This is also quite useful for GIS analysts.

Deemed the ‘Ultimate Satellite Phone’, the Isatphone Pro really delivers. At a suggested retail price of $699 (US dollars), it is thirty to fifty per cent cheaper than other satellite phones. With all of the useful, handy features, this device is a bargain! Airtime rates are also very competitive, as they only charge $1 (US dollars) per minute. The Inmarsat Isatphone-Pro is set for release in June of 2010. It is expected to be available only in stores which are handpicked by Inmarsat.

Inmarsat is a leading name in global communications. Through extensive research and development, they have paved the way through satellite communications. Since Inmarsat debuted as the International Maritime Satellite Organization in 1979, they have been making high quality satellite phone like the Isatphone pro. They specialize in providing services, especially in areas where there is no cellular reception. The company provides global maritime distress and safety services or GMDS as a public service to various aircrafts. This allows the best use of aircrafts.

They have various services, including traditional voice calls, high speed internet, tracking devices or systems, along with distress and safety services. Their GPRS type services are made through the Broadband Global Area Network or BGAN, which is an IP satellite modem which can transfer up to 492kbits per second.

Inmarsat offers three types of coverage. The first is the global beam coverage, which utilizes one third of the surface of the Earth. These beams hit the Pacific Ocean Region, the West Region of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the East, and the Indian Ocean Region, among others. The second type of coverage Inmarsat offers is the Regional spot beam coverage. This makes use of more than one satellite, one over each region. Inmarsat makes use of I-3 satellites to get the best results. These satellites produce beams which cover a fraction of a certain area. Each satellite gives a region about four to six beams, which all in all makes up nineteen regional beams. The last type of coverage Inmarsat offers is the narrow spot beam. It makes use of three inmarsat-4 satellites to make narrow beams. This enables customers to get high speed data exchange. It gives a maximum of two hundred narrow spot beams.

Inmarsat has some advanced services. One of the most popular is the BGAN or Broadband Global Area Network service which is designed to be used on land. It uses l-4 satellites to provide users with the fastest data streaming available. Also using the same technology are the fleet broadband, swift broadband, and the new Isatphone pro.

The Fleet Broadband or FB is a service for the maritime. It is also based on the Broadband Global Area Network technology, with the same infrastructure and framework. The only difference, however, is that the terminals are especially designed for ships. On the other hand, the swift broadband or SB is a service for aeronautics. Like the fleet broadband, it is also based on the Broadband Global Area Network technology. However, they are designed to be used in commercial, private and military planes.

The Isatphone pro is one of the newest Inmarsat products to use the Broadband Global Area Network services. Set for release in July of 2010, it has been one of the long-awaited products of the company. It can provide voice services at up to 4.9 k bits per second. It can also fax data at 2.4kbits per second. Available in regions with the EMEA and APAC satellites, it is one of the most powerful satellite phones in the market today.
